Group Discussion on Women reservation

Women Reservation Bill passed in Rajya Sabha with a massive majority. Now Women Reservation Bill need to get the one third majority in the Lok Sabha also. The proposed legislation aims at reserve 33.3 percent seats in Parliament and state legislatures for women.

For

- For the growth and development of women is that they must be made independent by means of empowerment. Reservation, at one point was seen as a powerful tool in the hands of women.

- A women only maintain more relationships with her surroundings compare to men, that is atleast with her relatives and neighbourhoods. An educated women can provide the awareness among the people in the society like how to be a good citizen.

- Womens are the strongest pillars of our indian society women get 33% in gram panchayat elections, parliament and legislative assemblies.

- If our Government can provide them with some reserved seats, then it would really help our Indian women to come forward in the society quickly and that would definately take India in the path of progress.

Against

- A woman needs education, awareness, independence not reservation.

- It is better to encourage women to achieve great things rather than giving reservations to them.
Reservations cannot give skills to anybody.

- In one side we are saying women are not less capable in part of system such like game, education, film etc.

- What happen if 33 percent reservation for women then if only 20 women are capable to fit in that position And the seats are to be filled.
